As you get older more and more things start to go wrong with your body. Some people may have shaky hands, some may have bad ears, but my main ailment has come at the ripe old age of 22 and it is my knees. Years of running have left them a pile of clicking pain and this has upset me greatly as I am still young enough to enjoy my exercise. This left me looking for a way to still clock up the miles whilst not ruining my knees further, and this is when I came across the recumbent bikes. They let me do all of the exercise I want whilst putting almost no pressure on my delicate joints so they are pretty much perfect! In this review I will be taking a look at one bike in particular, the Velocity Dual Motion, and pointing out the good, the bad and the ugly!

So tell me more about what it can do for me

This recumbent bike has a decent number of features to keep you on your toes when exercising. When combined they mean that you will be able to continually edit and increase the challenge you are facing so you never settle into a routine. First up is the 5kg flywheel which is the thing which will be providing the resistance when you are cycling so it’s pretty crucial! To prevent having a greater number of breakable parts than is necessary, this bike has a one way bearing which is belt driven. It doesn’t matter if you are an expert cyclist or a newbie, the 8 levels of tension control mean that you will be able find the right setting for your ability. Velocity have saved what is perhaps the greatest feature until last though, and the onboard computer has separate readouts for time, speed, distance, calories, your hand pulse and an odometer so you will be able to keep up with your progress.

So just how big is this exercise bike?

This bike is neither particularly large nor particularly small when it comes to comparing it to its rivals. It measures 51 x 50 x 25 inches in total, and it only weighs 97 pounds too. This means that you will be able to easily move the bike from room to room depending on your needs.

What are the plus points?

For a bike which is at the lower end of the scale, the build quality is very good and it comes with a good number of features. It acts as the perfect starter bike for anyone looking to get more into the sport. If however this list of features is not long enough for you, you can check out those of other exercise bikes at my Fitness Shopper.

What are the negative points?

Any negative points that have been made about this bike are so small they are not really worth considering. Customers have mentioned that the seat is too small and that it is not ideal for those of us with smaller legs, but both of these things can be resolved with a simple adjustment.

Wrap things up for me

A good number of features, a good build quality, and perfect for easing your way into cycling. There really isn’t a bad word to be said about this exercise bike by Velocity, so get on your bike and grab one before they go!
